TREATING WITH AYURVEDA

There are times when our body energies become imbalanced, symptoms can arise that affect your physical, emotional, and mental health. Sometimes, the body finds its way back to balance naturally, but other times, it needs a guiding hand. A KōTara Ayurvedic practitioner will assess your symptoms to identify which dosha is out of alignment and work to restore harmony. Through carefully chosen foods, movement, and lifestyle practices, the practitioner realigns your doshas by introducing qualities that counterbalance the symptoms you’re experiencing.

WHAT IS AYURVEDA?

Ayurveda, meaning “science of life” in Sanskrit, is one of the world’s oldest holistic health systems. It teaches that each person has a unique balance of three doshas—Vata, Pitta, and Kapha—energies derived from the five elements:

  • Earth: the state of stability, structure, and grounding; the foundation for our physical bodies

  • Water: the state of fluidity, moisture and flow; nourishing all living things

  • Fire: the state of heat and transformation; digestion, metabolism, and energy, helping us change and grow

  • Air: the state of mobility and movement.  Air controls circulation, breathing, and communication, allowing flexibility and expansion

  • Space: the space that holds everything. Ether provides the room for all things to exist and grow, representing awareness and possibility

These five states of matter express themselves in the human body as the three doshas:

  • Vata: Ether and Air

  • Pitta: Fire and Water

  • Kapha: Water and Earth

The doshas are universal energies that are the functions at play in human physiology. Because the body constantly fluctuates, each dosha fluctuates. Anytime we do something in excess, the doshas become aggravated and the body is subjected to pathology or disease.

When these energies become imbalanced, symptoms arise that affect your physical, emotional, and mental health. By addressing these imbalances through diet, movement, and lifestyle practices, Ayurveda guides you back to harmony.

OUR FOUNDER

My journey to holistic wellness is a powerful story of My journey to holistic wellness has been one of transformation, resilience, and self-love—a path that now empowers me to guide others in their healing. Growing up as a first-generation Indian in Delaware, I felt drawn to something beyond cultural expectations and conventional ideas of success. This search for belonging led me across countries and cities, in pursuit of healing, self-discovery, and connection.

It was in the beauty of France that I began uncovering the truth I’d been seeking. A relationship grounded in freedom and presence taught me the power of living fully, reconnecting me with my own strength and clarity, and instilling a deep compassion and self-love.

This awakening inspired my commitment to holistic practices, especially Kundalini yoga, breathwork, and Alignment-Based Yoga Asana, which became the foundation of my work. Certified as a Yoga and Meditation Teacher at Samyama in Bali in 2022 and as an Ayurvedic Wellness Coach through the Shakti School in 2023, I’m on track to complete Ayurvedic Health Counselor training by 2025. My mission is simple yet profound: to help others reconnect with their true selves and discover lasting wellness.

What makes my work unique is not just the knowledge I bring, but the lived experience of personal transformation. I understand the courage it takes to heal, embrace self-love, and commit to a path of growth. This empathy allows me to create a nurturing, supportive environment for each client—one where they can feel seen, valued, and empowered.

At our core, I believe we are all pure love, though life’s challenges can sometimes cloud that connection. Through my work, I offer a gentle yet powerful reminder that the answers lie within. With the right guidance, anyone can reconnect with their inner strength and wisdom. My approach is about more than temporary relief; it’s about helping my clients experience lasting transformation, guiding them toward a life filled with joy, balance, and self-empowerment.
